1-SAP S/4 HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC) -Step By Step Instructions To Transfer Data - Part I.
...Previous (Summary) ...Part II (Next)
My recent experience in SAP S/4 HANA Migration cockpit as a SAP Technical consultant,
where we migrated Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, Contracts, Scheduling Agreements, Pricing Records and more using the new migration tool LTMC
i would like to explain the step by step process of using LTMC Tcode.
There have been many blogs explaining the usage of Migration cockpit of SAP. In this blog, i am trying to explain the step by step process of how to use the transaction code LTMC.
The use of LSMW for data load to SAP S/4HANA is not recommended, hence an SAP Migration cockpit has to be used for migrations.
Step 1. Run transaction LTMC
Migration Cockpit will open in your default web browser e.g. Internet Explorer
Step 2. Existing migration projects will appear in the list. To create a new migration project, click on "Create" button.
Pop-up for new project will appear.
Step 3. Enter Name, Default View and Mass Transfer ID.
Notes:
- Here, we are covering only "Transfer Data from File" option.
- Mass Transfer ID is an important field specially when you want to export content/project (adjusted migration objects) from Quality to Production system. Mass Transfer ID must be identical in both system to make the project export/import possible. Therefore, replace the system generated ID (continuous number) with a different ID.
Step 4. After entering details as per above step, click on "Create" button.
Project will be saved.
Step 5. Migrations Objects available in your SAP S/4HANA version will be available in the list.
To locate your desired migration object, either scroll down or enter name of your object in search field "Filter by:" as shown below.
Step 6. Let’s try to upload sales orders in this Demo. Select the row for Sales Order object and click on "Open" button.
Alternatively, you can click on name "Sales order (only open SO)" too.
To refer to documentation/help related to that migration object, click on "Show" link in Documentation column.
